Project Description: RECLAIM Source Test
Location: Various
Agency: South Coast AQMD
Date: May 2019
Summary:
Clients that operate Regional Clean Air Incentives Market (RECLAIM) facilities must perform source tests on large NOx sources a minimum of once a year in order to maintain Super Compliant status per Rule 2012 (c)(4)(d). Source testing requires careful communication between the facility operators, the source testing company, and the governing air district. TES, Inc. provided clear coordination between the client and the source tester while also keeping constant communication channels open with the air district informing them about necessary source test scheduling. In this case, a RECLAIM facility needed to coordinate a source test for their large source dryer with the source testing company at the same time as notifying the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) of their status of compliance with the protocol requirements. Once the test was complete TES, Inc. reviewed the results for compliance and provided a summary to all necessary parties of the tests conclusions. The test demonstrated compliance with protocol requirements and the facility maintained their Super Compliance Status.
